However, on semi-regular occasion the author will throw in a very clearly modern phrase that just struck me as incredibly inappropriate for the rest of the book’s voice.Ģ. The majority of the book is filled with older/fantasy appropriate language choices. Bad:ġ.The author muddles the language of the story great deal too much for me. If you can look past the weak editing and informal narration, I would certainly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the fantasy genre. It feels a little like the author took a generic fantasy template and put some of his own twists on it in such a way that he made the story ‘his’. ![]() The story and characters don’t have much depth or intrigue to them, but they are written well enough that they both remain interesting throughout the entire novel.
